How to Write On Glass Coffee Mugs
Tools You Will Need
- Glass marker (or paint marker)
- Masking or painter’s tape
- Scraper or toothpick (for fixing mistakes)
Prepare The Mug
Make sure to clean the mug with alcohol before you attempt to write on it; this will help the marker to be absorbed into the glass. Once the mug is clean and dry, use the masking tape to help create a stencil. Place the tape in the shape of your design before writing on the mug. Use pieces of tape to hold it down if needed.
Writing on the Mug
Draw your design carefully with the glass marker. If you make a mistake, you can use the scraper or toothpick to carefully remove it. Once you’re done drawing, let the design dry for about 24 hours. Be sure not to touch it and avoid using the mug during this time.
Remove The Tape And Bake
After the design is dry, slowly remove the tape. Don’t rush this process, as the tape can pull off some of the ink you just applied.
To complete the job, you need to bake your mug. Place it in an oven preheated to 350°F (175°C) for about two minutes. Once it’s done baking, let it cool.
And that’s it! You’ve now successfully decorated your glass coffee mug.
