How to Use a Vintage Pyrex Glass Coffee Maker
Vintage Pyrex glass coffee makers are all the rage with the resurgence of retro kitchen tools. Not only do they add a unique, vintage aesthetic to your kitchen, but they also make delicious coffee, too.
Using a vintage Pyrex glass coffee maker is a bit different than your modern, electric coffee makers. Before you get started, keep in mind that you’ll need fresh, coarsely ground coffee, an exact amount of hot water, and about 8-12 minutes for your coffee to brew.
Here’s What You Need
- Vintage Pyrex glass pot
- Coffee filter
- Coffee grounds (coarsely ground)
- Kettle of hot water
Instructions
- Rinse the Pyrex glass pot with hot water.
- Place the filter into the top of the pot. Make sure it fits securely.
- Put two tablespoons of freshly ground coffee into the filter. Level it off the top, but don’t flatten or pack the grounds.
- Carefully pour hot water into the pot to the top fill-line on the side.
- Cover the top and wait for 8-12 minutes for the water to finish dripping through the grounds.
- Uncover the lid and pour your hot, fresh cup of coffee!
You can enjoy your unique, vintage cup of coffee any time of the day. With a little bit of extra time and effort, now you can experience coffee just like your grandparents did with a vintage Pyrex glass coffee maker!
