Brew Coffee with a Pyrex Glass Coffee Pot

Pyrex glass coffee pots are an affordable, durable, and classic option for brewing coffee at home. Whether you just got a new glass pot or have been using yours for years, here’s how to use it to make delicious coffee.

What You’ll Need

  1. Pyrex glass coffee pot
  2. Measuring spoon
  3. Coffee grounds
  4. Water

Steps for Using a Pyrex Coffee Pot:

  1. Gather your supplies. If the pot is new, wash it with warm, soapy water and rinse it before the first use.
  2. Measure the correct amount of coffee grounds. The rule of thumb is 1 tablespoon per 5 ounces of water, so depending on how much coffee you want to make, you can adjust the teaspoon amount accordingly.
  3. Add the grounds to the coffee pot. The grounds should be a coarse, even grind – it should not be too fine (like espresso) or too coarse.
  4. Fill the pot with cold water to the desired coffee amount. Make sure to not overfill because the water will expand as it boils.
  5. Put the pot on the stove and bring the water to a rolling boil at a medium heat. Once boiling, keep an eye on it as it can boil over quite easily!
  6. Once boiling, remove the pot from the heat and let the coffee steep for 3-5 minutes.
  7. Pour your freshly brewed cup of coffee and enjoy!

Tip:

You may want to invest in a Pyrex glass lid to keep heat in while boiling and help prevent the water from spilling over the pot. This will help you achieve a better tasting cup of coffee!
