Brew Coffee with a Pyrex Glass Coffee Pot
Pyrex glass coffee pots are an affordable, durable, and classic option for brewing coffee at home. Whether you just got a new glass pot or have been using yours for years, here’s how to use it to make delicious coffee.
What You’ll Need
- Pyrex glass coffee pot
- Measuring spoon
- Coffee grounds
- Water
Steps for Using a Pyrex Coffee Pot:
- Gather your supplies. If the pot is new, wash it with warm, soapy water and rinse it before the first use.
- Measure the correct amount of coffee grounds. The rule of thumb is 1 tablespoon per 5 ounces of water, so depending on how much coffee you want to make, you can adjust the teaspoon amount accordingly.
- Add the grounds to the coffee pot. The grounds should be a coarse, even grind – it should not be too fine (like espresso) or too coarse.
- Fill the pot with cold water to the desired coffee amount. Make sure to not overfill because the water will expand as it boils.
- Put the pot on the stove and bring the water to a rolling boil at a medium heat. Once boiling, keep an eye on it as it can boil over quite easily!
- Once boiling, remove the pot from the heat and let the coffee steep for 3-5 minutes.
- Pour your freshly brewed cup of coffee and enjoy!
Tip:
You may want to invest in a Pyrex glass lid to keep heat in while boiling and help prevent the water from spilling over the pot. This will help you achieve a better tasting cup of coffee!
