How to Upholster a Glass Coffee Table
Upholstering a glass coffee table can add a beautiful, homey touch to any living room – here’s how to do it:
Tools and Materials:
- Glass table
- Foam for padding
- Fabric for upholstering
- Glue gun
- Staple gun
- Hair dryer
Step 1: Prepare the Glass Table
Start by wiping down the glass table with a clean, damp cloth to remove any dust or debris. If your table is particularly dirty, use some glass cleaner to make sure it’s spotless.
Step 2: Cut and Attach the Foam Padding
Cut the foam padding to fit the shape of the glass table. Use a glue gun to attach the foam. Use a hair dryer to soften the foam while you work, this will make it easier to fit.
Step 3: Cut and Attach the Fabric
Measure and cut the fabric to have a few inches of extra fabric on each side then iron it to get rid of any wrinkles. Use a staple gun to attach the fabric to the padding. Make sure to pull the fabric tight while you work.
Step 4: Trim the Excess Fabric and Stylishly Finish Up
Trim the excess fabric along the edge of the glass table. To finish off the upholstering, use the glue gun to create a “fringed” edging at the base of the table for a stylish touch.
You’ve now upholstered a glass coffee table! Enjoy the beauty of your new stylish living room accent.
