How to Upholster a Glass Coffee Table
Upholstering a glass coffee table may seem like an overwhelming task, but with a few simple steps, you can easily add some custom style to a room.
What You Need:
- Glass coffee table
- Upholstery fabric
- Stapler
- Thin foam padding
- Scissors
Step 1: Measure
Measure the dimensions of the glass coffee table you’ll be upholstering, including the sides of the table if necessary. Measure the length, width and height of the table. You’ll need fabric large enough to cover the entire surface area, plus an inch or two of material for stapling on the bottom.
Step 2: Cut
Cut the fabric according to the measurements you took. It’s a good idea to use a rotary cutter to make straight and even lines. If you are using foam padding, cut it the same size as the fabric.
Step 3: Attach the Foam
Place the foam padding on the underside of the fabric and use a stapler to attach it. Make sure the staples are placed securely and evenly.
Step 4: Attach the Fabric to the Table
Start at one corner of the coffee table and place the fabric on top, making sure it is even and flat. Use a staple gun to begin stapling the fabric to the table, pulling the fabric tight as you go along. Work your way around the table, stapling the fabric until it is completely secure.
Step 5: Finish the Edges
Once the table is covered, you can trim off any excess fabric and secure the corners with a few extra staples to give a clean and finished look.
Step 6: Enjoy!
Now your coffee table is ready for use! The newly upholstered table will add a unique touch of style to any room. Be sure to show it off to your friends and family.
