How To Ship a Coffee Table
So you need to ship a coffee table? We’ve got you covered with our simple guide on how to properly package and ship a coffee table.
Step 1: Disassemble the Table
If possible, it’s best to disassemble the coffee table before shipping. This will help reduce the size, weight, and fragility of the table, thus reducing the cost of shipping. Make sure you keep all of the parts and screws together in one container.
Step 2: Prepare the Pieces for Shipping
When preparing the coffee table parts for shipping, use plenty of packing materials to prevent any damage that could be caused in transit.
- Bubble wrap: Wrap all of the pieces in bubble wrap to protect them from impact and scratches.
- Foam wrap: If available, use foam wrap for additional protection.
- Padding: Use a combination of newspaper, packing peanuts, and other materials to create a buffer around the pieces and provide extra reinforcement.
Step 3: Place the Pieces in a Box
Make sure the box you use is big enough for all the pieces, and be sure to pad any empty space with more packing materials. If you’d like, you can also use a larger box with dividers to ensure the pieces have sufficient space between them.
Step 4: Securely Seal the Box
Once everything is in the box, make sure to tape it securely. Use box sealing tape or strapping tape to create extra reinforcement and prevent the box from opening.
Step 5: Label the Box
Write the words “Fragile” and “Handle With Care” on both the top and sides of the box.
Step 6: Choose a Shipping Provider
Now you’re ready to send off the box! Before shipping, be sure to contact your chosen shipping provider for rates and any additional information you should be aware of.
And there you have it! That’s all you need to know on how to ship a coffee table.
