How to Remove Mold from a Glass Coffee Pot

Molds build up in coffee pots over time. Not only can this ruin the taste of your coffee but it can also put your health at risk. Thankfully, with a few pantry staples, you can easily and safely remove the mold from your glass coffee pot. Here’s how.

What You’ll Need:

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Heavy-duty scrubber or a soft brush
  • Sponge
  • Water

Instructions:

  1. Mix equal parts white vinegar and baking soda in a bowl.
  2. For stubborn mold: Dip the scrubber or soft brush into the mixture and scrub the inside of the glass coffee pot and the lid.
  3. For easier removal: Rub the mixture all over the interior of the glass coffee pot and lid and let it sit for an hour or two. The combination of vinegar and baking soda will soften and break down the mold, making it easier to remove.
  4. Rinse the glass pot and lid with water and a sponge. For hard-to-reach places, use the scrubber or brush.
  5. Fill the pot with vinegar and let it sit for an hour, then use the sponge to scrub any remaining moldy residue.
  6. Empty the vinegar and rinse the pot and lid one last time with water.

That’s it! Cleaning your glass coffee pot once or twice a month with vinegar and baking soda can help keep mold away.
