how to remove candle wax from glass coffee table

Removing Candle Wax from a Glass Coffee Table

Candles add ambience to any room at home but if you accidentally get wax on a glass coffee table, removing it can be tricky! Don’t worry, though. Here are some simple tips on getting rid of wax from your furniture.

Things You’ll Need

  • Cling wrap
  • Ice cubes
  • Sponge
  • Mild dish soap

Instructions

  1. Cover the wax with a piece of plastic wrap. This will stop the wax from sticking to other parts of the table. Press down with your fingertips and make sure that the plastic wrap is firmly adhered to the wax.
  2. Put a few ice cubes on top of the plastic wrap. The cold temperature should help to harden the wax and make it easier to remove.
  3. Wait for about 5 minutes for the wax to harden. Don’t let the ice cubes melt.
  4. Peel off the plastic wrap. The wax should come off easily with it. If not, then use a pair of tweezers.
  5. Dampen a sponge with some mild dish soap and warm water. Gently scrub at the area to remove any remaining wax or residue.
  6. Rinse the area with warm water. Use a clean cloth to dry the area and make sure it is completely free of any wax.

Your glass coffee table should now be wax-free! Keep in mind that the sooner you remove the wax, the easier it will be. If you leave the wax for too long, it will be much harder to remove.
