How to Package Glass Coffee Mugs to Ship
Shipping fragile items is always a challenge, as accidents can easily happen when in transit. If you’re planning to ship glass coffee mugs, here’s some useful advice to ensure your package arrives safely.
Things You’ll Need:
- Packing materials such as bubble wrap, packing peanuts and packing tape.
- A strong cardboard box.
- Newspaper or recycled packing paper.
Step 1: Wrap the Mugs
Using bubble wrap and packing paper, wrap each mug individually to ensure they don’t break during transit. Make sure to cover each mug with several layers of bubble wrap and pack them firmly into the wrapping paper. Secure by taping the wrapping paper so the mugs won’t move around.
Step 2: Choose the Right Box
For extra fragile items, it’s best to choose a double-walled cardboard box 3 times the size of the item you’re shipping. For the mugs, select a mid-sized box with plenty of space for them to breathe.
Step 3: Fill the Base of the Box
Using packing peanuts, newspaper or a combination of both, fill the base of the box to create a cushion for the mugs. Make sure to fill the entire base, as this will help keep the mugs in place.
Step 4: Place the Mugs in the Box
Carefully place the mugs into the box and make sure there is a small gap between them. For extra protection, place a thin layer of packing peanuts over the mugs.
Step 5: Seal the Box and You’re Ready to Ship!
Using packing tape, make sure to properly seal the box and reinforce the corners. Once the box is sealed, label it as ‘Fragile’ and you’re ready to ship your mugs!
By following the above steps, your glass mugs will arrive safe and sound!
