How to Pack a Glass Coffee Carafe with Non-Removable Lid
Moving a glass carafe with a non-removable lid can be a difficult task. Fortunately, with the right preparation, you can safely and securely pack and transport your carafe worry-free.
Step 1: Choose the Right Box
The size of the box matters as much as its strength. If it is too large, the carafe will move too much inside, risking damage. If it is too small, the box can tear, leaving the carafe exposed to the elements. Make sure the box you choose is slightly more than double the size of the carafe.
Step 2: Gather Your Supplies
To ensure the carafe is properly protected, you will need the following supplies:
- Packing paper
- Wrapping film or bubble wrap
- Tape
Step 3: Wrap and Pad the Carafe
Using wrapping film or bubble wrap, fully cover the carafe, leaving the lid free. Once its safely wrapped, place a few sheets of packing paper in the bottom of the box to cushion the carafe.
Step 4: Securely Place the Carafe in the Box
Now carefully place the carafe inside the box. Make sure it is positioned on the bed of packing paper and away from any sharp edges.
Step 5: Fill in Gaps and Secure the Box
To prevent the carafe from shifting in transit, fill in any gaps with more packing paper. When you are finished, use tape to firmly seal the box.
Step 6: Label the Box
Write “Fragile” and “This Side Up” clearly on the outside of the box, so that the carafe is handled with extra care.
Packing a glass carafe with a non-removable lid might seem complicated, but with the right care, it can be done safely and quickly. So the next time you need to move your carafe, make sure you follow these steps and your carafe will arrive safe and sound!
