Designing unique furniture pieces with broken glass is an insightful and stunning way to add art to your living space. Utilizing shattered glass in the design of your coffee table is an excellent way to add style and sophistication to your living room. To make a shattered glass coffee table, here are the steps you will need to follow:
Step 1: Collect Your Materials
- 3/4” Plywood (amount will depend on the size of your desired table top)
- Piece(s) of Shattered Glass (amount will depend on the size of your desired table top)
- PVC Pipe
- Wood Glue
- Silicone Adhesive
- Screws
- Paint
Step 2: Construct the Frame
Using the PVC pipe, construct the frame of the table. Make sure that the frame fits your desired size and shape of the table. Secure the pieces together with screws.
Step 3: Attach the Plywood to the Frame
Using wood glue, attach the plywood to the frame. Make sure that the wood is secure and will not come loose overtime. Allow for the glue to dry for 30 minutes.
Step 4: Attach the Shards of Glass to the Plywood
Using the silicone adhesive, attach the shards of glass to the plywood. Make sure to apply the adhesive in a thin layer and to ensure that the glass is securely attached to the plywood.
Step 5: Paint
Once the adhesive has dried, paint the frame and top of the table. You can choose any color that matches your décor. Allow for the paint to dry for at least 24 hours.
And that’s it! You just created a one of a kind chipboard shattered glass coffee table. Adding unique furniture pieces to your home is an excellent way to elevate your style and décor.
