How to Make a Glass Coffee Table
Materials Needed
- Glass Cutter
- Glass Panels
- Saw Horse (or other sturdy work surface)
- 4 Wooden Table Legs
- Drill and Drill Bits
- Masonry Bits
- Hex Head Screws
- Sandpaper
- Wood Glue
- Rubber Mallet
Step One: Cut Glass
Place the glass panel on top of the saw horse (or other sturdy work surface). Using the glass cutter, score a line all the way around the glass panel. Place protective gloves on and use rubber mallet to break the glass along the scored line.
Step Two: Prep the Legs
Using a drill and appropriate drill bit, drill two pilot holes into each leg – these pilot holes should line up with the top side of the legs. Using the masonry bit and an appropriate drill bit, drill and countersink two holes for each of the legs into the glass panel.
Step Three: Assemble the Table
Using wood glue, glue the legs to the underside of the glass panel. Insert the hex head screws into the pilot holes, and tighten with a drill.
Step Four: Finish the Table
Sand down the edges of the glass, and wipe away any excess wood glue.
Congratulations, you’ve successfully built a glass coffee table! Place the table in your living room and enjoy it for years to come.
