How To Make An Ocean Coffee Table
Making your own unique ocean coffee table can be a lot of fun and allow for a lot of creativity. If you want to make a coffee table that stands out from other people’s generic tables, making one with an ocean-theme can be perfect. Here are a few tips to help you make a stunning ocean coffee table.
Gathering Your Materials
- Wood: This will serve as the surface and the bottom for your table. It helps to choose a hardwood for best results, and pine or redwood are good options.
- Glass: You’ll need tempered glass for the top of the table so it’s durable. Additionally, you may want cut-glass pieces to use in the center.
- Gems: Depending on what kind of fish and other sea creatures you want on your table, there are plenty of artificial jewels and gems available in craft stores that can serve as scales and eyes.
- Glue: You’ll definitely need a reliable glue with a strong hold to attach the pieces.
- Epoxy Resin: This will help to seal the ocean materials onto the top of the table.

Constructing the Table
- Cut the pine or hardwood board to the size of the coffee table you want, and construct a frame for the top and bottom. Glue and/or use nails to connect the frame pieces together.
