How to Make a Round Table Into a Coffee Table
Having a round table around your living room is great, but know how to make it more functional? Converting it into a coffee table can majorly expand the utility and style of your furniture. Here’s how to pull it off:
Step 1: Measure Your Table
Take accurate measurements of your round table across the length and width. This will help you decide what size glass tabletop to get.
Step 2: Buy a Glass Topper
Use your measurements to search online or browse in physical stores for a round glass tabletop, that matches your table’s size. Choose from either clear, frosted, or tinted glass, to match your home decor.
Step 3: Attach the Topper
You’ll need a few tools for this step. You’ll also need to detatch the legs from the tabletop. Most coffee tables have legs that screw on and off.
- Hammer
- Putty Knife
- Caulking Gun
- Silicone Adhesive
- Wood Screws
Now that you’ve fet the legs off, attach the new glass topper to your table by applying silicone adhesive to the table’s edges. Use a putty knife to evenly spread the silicone and then carefully lay on the glass. After you secure it, wait two days for it to fully dry and cure.
Step 4: Reattach the Legs
To reattach the legs, use a caulking gun to spread silicone adhesive on the table’s bottom corners. Now, firmly place each leg into the silicon and screw into place.
