Creating a unique, custom made coffee table doesn’t have to be hard. Follow this guide to transform a simple, plain tabletop into a beautiful resin river coffee table.
Tools and Materials
- Plywood or other large flat surface
- Epoxy resin
- Pigment and metallic powder
- Painter’s tape
- Stirring sticks
- Protective gloves
- Saw
- Table legs
Step 1: Prepare the Wood
Using your saw, cut and shape the wood into the desired size and shape of your coffee table. To create the river pattern, use painter’s tape to divide the wood into sections.
Step 2: Mix the Resin
Combine the epoxy resin and any pigment and metallic powder you are using in a bowl, following the instructions on the packaging. Make sure to use protective gloves while handling the resin.
Step 3: Create the River Design
Carefully pour the resin onto the wood, gradually filling the sections you’ve outlined with tape. Then, using stirring sticks, create the desired river pattern.
Step 4: Wait for the Resin to Set
Allow the resin to cure for 24 hours or according to the instructions on the packaging.
Step 5: Attach the Table Legs
Using your saw, cut and attach the table legs to the underneath of the table.
