DIY: How to Make a Pallet Coffee Table on Wheels
Creating your own furniture can be a rewarding experience. Not only does it provide a unique one-of-a-kind look for your home, but it can also save you money. Pallet coffee tables on wheels are an easy DIY project you can complete over the weekend. Here’s how.
Materials Needed:
- Four pallets
- Wood screws
- Four large caster wheels
- Sandpaper
- Stain or paint (optional)
Step 1: Build the Base
The base of the pallet table acts as a frame that will hold up the tabletop. To make this, you will need to assemble three pallets. Start by using four wood screws to secure the end of one pallet to the side of another. Repeat this with all three pallets to form a rectangular frame. To make the base extra sturdy, add some corner braces and secure them with more screws.
Step 2: Add the Wheels
Next, attach the four caster wheels to each corner of the table base. Make sure to secure them properly so your table will be able to move easily.
Step 3: Prepare the Top
For the top, use one wooden pallet and make sure to sand it down and remove any splinters or rough spots. If desired, you can also stain or paint the top.
Step 4: Attach the Top to the Base
Once the top is ready, attach it to the frame. Using wood screws, secure the frame to the underside of the tabletop.
Step 5: Finish the Table
Once all the pieces are put together, you’re ready to enjoy your new pallet coffee table. You may want to add felt pads to the bottom of the caster wheels to prevent any scratches on your floors.
