How to Make a Glass Coffee Table
When searching for an eye-catching way to decorate your living space, nothing can compete with the beauty of a glass coffee table. Making your own coffee table is a relatively simple process and an excellent way to save money.
Things You’ll Need
- Glass
- Wood Pieces
- Drill
- Screws
- Wood Glue
- Sandpaper
- Wood Stain
Step 1: Cut the Wood
You’ll need four pieces of wood for the base of your table: two for the sides and two for the front and back. Measure and mark the pieces to length before cutting.
Step 2: Attach the Pieces Together
Once your pieces are cut, place them together in a box shape. Secure the pieces using wood glue as well as two screws for each piece on each side. Sand the edges down lightly and ensure there are no sharp edges.
Step 3: Stain the Wood
Using the wood stain, paint the entire surface of the wood, making sure to cover all of the exposed surfaces. Allow the stain to dry before continuing.
Step 4: Place the Glass
Lay the glass sheet over the top of the wooden base. Make sure to measure the glass sheet so that it fits tightly on top of the wooden base. Secure the glass in place using glass glue.
Step 5: Finishing Touches
Once the glue has dried, your glass coffee table is complete. If desired, you can also add glass ornaments, a tablecloth, or other decorative items to make your table unique.
And there you have it – the perfect glass coffee table for your home!
