Making a Coffee Table out of Wood
Are you looking to spruce up the living room with a DIY project? Making your own coffee table out of wood could be your perfect solution! Here are the supplies you will need and steps to guide you along the way:
Supplies
- Wooden boards (size depends on desired table size)
- Power Tools (circular saw & drill)
- Sandpaper
- Wood glue
- Screws
Step 1: Measure and Cut
Begin by measuring and marking the boards according to your desired table size. Then using a circular saw, cut out the pieces of wood to the sizes you have marked.
Step 2: Assemble and Glue
Arrange the wooden boards on top of one another to form the frame of the coffee table. Once arranged to your liking, secure the pieces in place with wood glue. Make sure to keep the frame relatively tight so that nothing wobbles or shifts.
Step 3: Attach Legs
Mark and drill pilot holes in the desired four corners of the frame and secure legs with screws. These legs may also be platformed with a support beam beneath them to give the table more stability.
Step 4: Smooth and Sand
Sand the edges of the frame smooth and make sure that any imperfections or rough patches have been properly sanded away.
Step 5: Finish
At this point you can finish the table in any way you like. You can paint, stain, or varnish the wood, depending on your preferred aesthetic style.
And there you have it! You have successfully made a beautiful coffee table out of wood all by yourself!
