Making a Coffee Table into a Footstool
Are you wanting to make some small DIY changes to your living room? Instead of buying a footstool for extra seating, why not repurpose your existing coffee table into one? Here are some tips on how to make it happen.
Gather Your Supplies
Before you start, you’ll need the following:
- Coffee table
- Fabric – enough to cover the top and sides of your table
- Staple gun
- Bolster foam
- Batting
Prepare Your Coffee Table
You’ll want to make sure the top of your coffee table is completely clean before you begin. If there are any dirt or grime, clean it off with a damp cloth and some mild soap.
Cover in Fabric
Cut your fabric to fit the size of your coffee table. Use a staple gun to secure it starting from the bottom up, for an even finish.
Fill with Foam & Batting
Place Bolster foam over the top of the coffee table and secure with batting. Then, fold the batting over the edges and staple in place. Make sure the batting is taut for a more finished look.
Your Footstool is Ready
Your coffee table is now transformed into a stylish footstool! Add a few cushions on top, and you’re all set.
With a little creativity and hard work, you just created your own unique footstool. Enjoy!
