Steps to Create a Coffeetable Centerpiece
Step 1: Gather Supplies
The following supplies may be necessary to make an eye-catching coffee table centerpiece:
- Container/Vase
- Floral Foam
- Flowers (fresh, silk, or a mix)
- Filler items (dried grass, flowers, etc.)
Step 2: Choose a Container
The container for your centerpiece is the foundation; it will determine the size and height of your design. Select a container that best complements the size of your coffee table and the style of your home.
Step 3: Add Floral Foam
Fill the container ½ to ¾ with floral foam. This will hold the flowers in place and help keep the container stable.
Step 4: Begin Arranging Flowers
Starting with the largest flowers and longest stems, insert each stem into the wet foam and fill in the center of your design. Experiment with different placement.
Step 5: Add Filler Items
Make sure that the design is pleasing to the eye by adding filler items, such as grass or dried flowers, around the main flowers.
Step 6: Check for Balance
Be sure to step back and check for balance. As you arrange the flowers, look for any areas that need to be filled in or adjusted.
Step 7: Trickle Water
Finally, trickle water from the tip of a spoon around the flower stems to replenish the foam.
