Make a Barbie Coffee Table
Having a full sized Barbie? Then why not transform it into something fun and stylish like a Barbie Coffee Table? Here’s how:
Things you will need
- A Barbie Doll
- Table saw
- Plywood
- Wood Glue
- Wood Stain
- Painter’s Tape
- Sandpaper
- Paint Brush
- Small Hammer & nails
Step by step instructions
- Cut down the Plywood
Using a table saw or hand saw, cut your plywood into two pieces. Cut one piece into a 12 by 12 square and the other into two sections that are 11.5 by 12.
- Glue the Pieces Together
Using wood glue, glue the two 11.5 by 12 pieces together, creating a 12 by 24 section. Then glue the 12 by 12 piece on top of the 12 by 24 section.
- Cut Out the Doll Shape
Position Barbie on the plywood and trace some light markings with a pencil where the doll will stand. Use a jigsaw to make a hole for the doll to fit in, then use a belt sander or sandpaper to make the edges smooth.
- Apply Wood Stain
Using a foam brush and wood stain, apply a generous amount on the table. Allow it to sit for at least 15 minutes and then use a clean cloth to wipe off any excess.
- Paint a Design on the Table
Using painter’s tape, create any design you want. Paint it with whatever colors you want using a small brush. Wait for the paint to completely dry before removing the tape.
- Secure the Doll in Place
Place the doll in her cutout and secure her with a small hammer and nails. Make sure that the nails are below the surface of the wood.
- Enjoy your Barbie Coffee Table
Your Barbie Coffee Table is now ready! Show it off to your family and friends!
