How to build a Baluster Coffee Table
Materials needed:
- Four 2 x 4 boards about 4 feet long
- Six 2 x 4 boards about 1 foot long
- Nine balusters with a 3-inch diameter, at least 36 inches long
- Wood glue
- Clamps
- Circular saw
- Electric drill
- Wood screws
- Sandpaper
Instructions:
- Construct the table frame.
Attach the four long 2 x 4 boards together along the long edges, forming a square frame. Secure with wood screws. Clamp while you work to make sure they stay in place.
- Attach the short 2 x 4s.
Attach the six short 2 x 4 boards to the frame. Space them evenly and make sure they’re all securely attached. Clamp while you work.
- Secure the balusters.
Place the nine balusters evenly on the frame between the shorter 2 x 4s. Secure the balusters with wood glue and wood screws.
- Sand and finish.
Use sandpaper to smooth down any rough edges. Apply a wood finish of your choice to give the table a nice sheen.
