How to Get Stains Out of a Glass Coffee Pot

Whenever ugly brown stains begin to appear inside a glass coffee pot, it can be a bit of an eyesore. Luckily, there are a few methods that can remove these pesky coffee stains and leave you with a sparkling coffee pot.
Using White Vinegar
- Step 1: Combine equal parts white vinegar and warm water in your coffee pot. Be sure to fill the pot up enough so that the vinegar solution reaches the stains.
- Step 2: Place the glass coffee pot on the stove directly over medium heat. Allow the solution to simmer for around 10 minutes, being careful to not overheat the solution or the pot.
- Step 3: Using a cloth, scrub away the stains. If necessary, take a brush with soft bristles and get them off the areas where it harder to reach.
- Step 4: Rinse the glass pot until no trace of vinegar can be found. To get rid of the smell, you can add a few drops of lemon juice while scrubbing the pot with a clean cloth.
Using Baking Soda
- Step 1: Use a soft cloth or paper towel to rub baking soda over the stain. Be sure to cover the interior of the pot completely, including all the nooks and crannies where the stains may be.
- Step 2: After the baking soda is spread evenly, leave it for a few hours for allowing it to sit and absorb the stains.
- Step 3: Fill the pot with hot water and a few drops of detergent. Place it on the stove and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring it occasionally with a wooden spoon.
- Step 4: Rinse the pot thoroughly with warm water. All the stains should be gone now.
It is important to remember that the methods above are for cleaning the interior of the glass pot. To get rid of the buildup on the outside, it is best to use a soft cloth and warm water. Make sure to dry the exterior of the pot as soon as you are done washing as this will prevent any hard water stains/minerals from forming.
