How to Clean a Glass Coffee Pot
Having a fresh cup of coffee every morning starts with having a clean coffee pot. But even with regular maintenance, it’s easy for dirt, oils, and minerals from tap water to build up, leaving a residue and affecting the flavor of your coffee. Here’s how to get your glass coffee pot clean and stay that way.
A Few Supplies
- White vinegar: White vinegar is a natural cleaner and disinfectant that can help cut through tough stains and discoloration on your pot.
- Dish soap: Use a mild, unscented dish soap to help scrub off any stains or oils that white vinegar is unable to remove.
- Soft sponge: Choose a soft, non-abrasive sponge when washing and rinsing your pot to keep it in good condition.
Cleaning Your Coffee Pot
- Fill your pot with equal parts vinegar and water: Fill your glass pot with equal parts vinegar and water and let it sit for 10 minutes. This will help cut through the oils and minerals that have built up inside.
- Scrub gently: To help remove any stubborn stains, take a soft sponge and dip it into a small amount of dish soap. Gently scrub the inside of the pot until all the stains are gone.
- Rinse with warm water: Rinse off the pot with warm water until all the soap is gone. If there are any tough stains, you can repeat the process until they are removed.
- Dry with a soft cloth: Wipe the pot dry with a soft cloth to prevent any water from staining or discoloring the glass surface.
By following these steps, your coffee pot will be sparkling clean again. With regular maintenance and some good old-fashioned elbow grease, your pot will stay clean and your coffee will always taste great!
