How to Fix a Cracked Glass Coffee Table
Glass coffee tables can easily crack or shatter over time. They’re a popular addition to many living rooms, but can be quite fragile. If you’ve cracked your glass coffee table, don’t worry – you can still fix it! With the right materials and tools, you can restore your coffee table to like-new condition.
Materials Needed
- Epoxy
- Rubbing alcohol
- Acetone
- Cloth
- Masking tape
Instructions
- Clear off the area where your coffee table is cracked. Make sure you have room to work.
- Mix up the epoxy according to the directions on the label. Epoxy is a strong, waterproof glue.
- Apply the epoxy to the crack. Spread it along the full length of the crack and press it in with a finger.
- Let it dry completely. This will take between 24 and 48 hours.
- Once it’s dry, use a cloth and acetone to buff out any excess epoxy. Make sure you buff the entire length of the repair.
- Clean the area with rubbing alcohol. This will help make sure the crack is sealed and that the repair will last.
- If you have any areas that overlap, you can use a thin piece of masking tape over the crack. This will make sure the repair doesn’t come apart.
Your glass coffee table should now be repaired and as good as new! Glass can crack easily, but with the right materials and a little bit of elbow grease, you can easily fix a cracked glass coffee table.
Remember to always be careful when dealing with glass! After the repair is complete, double check the repair to make sure it’s secure and won’t come apart.
