How to Cover a Round Coffee Table with Fabric
Covering a round coffee table with fabric is a simple way to instantly change the look and feel of the table. With a few supplies and some time, you can easily transform your old coffee table into a stylish new piece with a personalized touch. Here’s how:
Step 1: Gather Supplies
To cover your coffee table with fabric, you’ll need:
- Fabric of your choice
- A stapler and staples
- A pair of scissors
- A tape measure
- A pen or marker
Step 2: Measure and Cut Fabric
Measure the circumference of the coffee table top and cut the fabric to fit. To do this, measure the diameter of the table and multiply it by 3.14 (pi). For example, if the table is 18 inches in diameter, you’ll need to measure out 56.52 inches of fabric, allowing extra fabric for tucking and trimming.
Step 3: Place the Fabric
Place the fabric centered over the table top, making sure it is taut. Make small marks on the fabric where staples can be placed. Refer back to your tape measure to make sure these marks are equally spaced around the table.
Step 4: Staple Fabric in Place
Use your stapler to secure the fabric to the underside of the table top. Make sure to keep the fabric taut while stapling it down, and to staple it in line with the marks you made in the previous step.
Step 5: Trim Excess Fabric
Once all of the fabric is secured with staples, trim any excess fabric that hangs off the sides of the table. Make sure the edges are neatly trimmed before you stand back and admire your work.
And that’s it! You’ve now successfully covered your round coffee table in fabric. Enjoy your refreshed table and relax as you admire your handiwork!
