How to Clean the Inside of a Glass Coffee Pot
Cleaning your coffee pot is essential to get rid of any bacteria or residue that may remain in the pot. A glass coffee pot can be a difficult surface to clean, as it is porous and fragile. However, with the right techniques and materials, you can easily keep your coffee pot looking sparkling clean.
What You’ll Need
- White distilled vinegar
- Baking Soda
- A soft-bristled brush
- An abrasive scrubbing pad or cloth
- Cloth or paper towels
- Dish soap
Instructions
- Clean the Outside First. Start by cleaning the outside of the glass coffee pot. This will help remove any residue that can make it harder to clean the inside.
- Soak the Pot. Fill the glass coffee pot about halfway with water and then add about one cup of white distilled vinegar. Allow the vinegar and water solution to soak for about 10 minutes.
- Scrub the Inside. Pour out the vinegar solution and use a soft brush to scrub the inside of the glass coffee pot. The bristles of the brush should be firm enough to remove any built-up residue, but also soft enough that they don’t scratch the glass. After scrubbing, rinse the pot out with cold water.
- Make a Baking Soda Paste. Next, make a paste of baking soda and water and spread it along the inside of the glass coffee pot. Let the paste sit for a few minutes, then scrub it off with the brush, or an abrasive scrubbing pad or cloth. This should help remove any stubborn residues.
Then, rinse the pot out using cold water. - Wash the Pot with Soap. Now wash the outside of the glass coffee pot with a cloth soaked in dish soap. Rinse the outside with cold water, then dry it off thoroughly with a cloth or paper towel.
