How to Clean the Inside of a Glass Coffee Carafe
It is important to keep your coffee carafe clean to ensure that you are drinking the best tasting coffee each morning. Here are some simple steps to help you clean the inside of your glass coffee carafe.
Step 1: Rinse Well
Start by rinsing your carafe out thoroughly with hot water. Make sure that it is free of any grounds, coffee bits, or residue.
Step 2: Vinegar Solution
In a cup, mix the following together:
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 4 cups hot water
Pour the vinegar solution into the coffee carafe and fill it about three-quarters of the way full. Let this sit for about 20-30 minutes.
Step 3: Rinse and Wipe Out
After the coffee carafe has been sitting for the desired amount of time, pour out the vinegar solution and rinse the carafe well with hot water. Follow this up by wiping out the inside with a cloth or paper towel.
Step 4: Refill and Swirl
Once the carafe has been wiped clean, fill it up with hot water once again and swirl it around to ensure that all residue is removed. Then empty out the hot water and rinse with cold water one more time.
Step 5: Finish
Your glass coffee carafe is now clean and ready to use! Make sure to clean the outside of the carafe as well with a damp cloth in order to keep it sparkling.
