How to Clean a Glass Coffee Pot with Small Openings
If the small openings in a glass coffee pot are clogged or caked with coffee, tea, or other debris, cleaning it can be a tricky task. But don’t worry – with some ‘elbow grease’, it’s possible to restore your coffee pot and make it look as good as new!
Instructions
- Fill the pot with warm water: Fill the coffee pot with a mix of warm water and some dish soap. Let the solution soak for a few minutes, then swirl the solution around to dislodge dirt and buildup.
- Pour out the warm soapy water: Once the warm soapy solution has had a chance to work, simply pour it out.
- Refill the pot and add vinegar: Refill the pot with a warm water and white vinegar solution and let this soak for an additional few minutes. Perfectly safe to use, the vinegar will help to dissolve any remaining deposits.
- Use a soft bristle brush: To get into the nooks and crannies, use a soft bristle brush to gently scrub the outside and inside of the pot. Make certain to cover all of the small openings and scrub away any remaining deposits.
- Rinse the pot: Once scrubbed, rinse the pot with warm water and discard the excess solution.
- Dry with a clean cloth: Gently dry the pot with a clean cloth and enjoy your like-new coffee pot for your next cup of brew!
Tips & Warnings
- Be sure to use a soft cloth to dry the pot and never use an abrasive material to scrub the pot; this could scratch and erode the glass.
- You may need to repeat the process several times in order to remove all of the deposits.
