How to Clean Glass Coffee Pot Stains
It’s never easy to deal with stubborn stains on your glass coffee pot, but fortunately, removing them doesn’t have to be complicated. Here’s an easy three-step process you can use to get your pot back to looking good as new.
Step 1: Cleaning with Soapy Water
Before using harsher chemical cleaners, it’s always a good idea to start by trying to remove the stains with warm soapy water. Fill the coffee pot half-full with warm water and add a few drops of mild dishwashing liquid. Put the lid back on and swirl it around for about a minute, then rinse out with clean, hot water.
Step 2: Scrubbing with Baking Soda
If the stains still won’t budge, try making a paste from a mixture of baking soda and water. Rub the paste onto the stained area and let it sit for a few minutes, then use a damp cloth to scrub the stain away. Rinse with clean hot water and repeat if necessary.
Step 3: Using White Vinegar
White vinegar is a natural, effective remedy for tougher stains. Fill the coffee pot with equal parts white vinegar and warm water, then put the lid back on and let it soak overnight. The next morning, rinse the pot out with hot water and the stains will be gone!
Additional Tips:
- Always use hot water to clean glass coffee pots
- Don’t scrub too hard—it may damage the glass
- Regularly wiping down the interior with a damp cloth will leave you less likely to have to clean stain-causing residue
