How to Clean a Glass Coffee Pot
Coffee makers are a wonderful convenience and make enjoying a great cup of coffee hassle-free. However, over time, coffee grounds, oils and other debris build-up in the pot, leading to a poor-tasting cup of coffee or an undesirable lingering odor. Fortunately, with a few simple household items, you can easily clean a glass coffee pot and restore its freshness.
What You’ll Need:
- Baking Soda
- Distilled Vinegar
- Water
- Coffee Filter
- Small Brush
- Paper Towel
Instructions:
- Disassemble your coffee maker and remove the glass pot from the machine.
- Sprinkle ¼ cup of baking soda in the glass pot.
- Place the pot under running water and using a small brush or cloth, wipe the baking soda off the interior of the pot.
- Pour 2 cups of distilled vinegar into the pot and let it sit for 15 minutes.
- Rinse the vinegar off the pot and dry with a paper towel.
- Place a coffee filter in the pot and pour 1 cup of baking soda into it.
- Fill the pot with hot water and place it on the coffee maker.
- Turn on the machine and let the water with baking soda run through the pot.
- Wait for the cycle to finish and discard the used filter.
- Rinse the pot with cold water and your pot is clean and ready for use.
