How to Clean Burned Glass Coffee Carafe
Nobody likes it when their carafe gets burned from the coffee. It can almost seem impossible to make it look clean again. Thankfully, you can use some items from around the house to restore your carafe. Here is how to clean burned glass coffee carafe:
Step One: Make the Solution
- In a medium sized bowl, mix together
- 1 cup baking soda
- 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar
- 1/2 cup of vinegar
Step Two: Heat up the Carafe
- Fill up a large pan with an inch of water
- Put the carafe in the pan and turn the burner to medium heat
- Let the carafe heat up for 8-10 minutes
- This will soften the burned material making it easier to clean
Step Three: Clean the Carafe
- After the carafe has been heated. Remove it from the pan and dry it off
- Using a paper towel, spread the solution around the carafe
- Let the solution sit for 15 to 20 minutes
- Afterwards, use a kitchen scrubbing pad or a stiff brush to scrub away the burned material
- Rinse the carafe to get rid of the solution and any leftover oils
- Dry off the carafe with a paper towel
