Cleaning a Glass Coffee Pot
Having a cup of coffee is one of the most popular morning routines. But if you don’t routinely clean your coffee maker, you could be drinking a substandard cup of brew. Here’s how to make sure your glass coffee pot is clean and producing excellent-tasting coffee.
Materials You’ll Need
- Baking soda
- Vinegar
- Cloth or sponge
Instructions
- Start by filling the pot with equal parts of vinegar and water. Let the mixture sit for about 20 minutes.
- After about 20 minutes, dump the vinegar and water mixture out into the sink. Wipe the pot down with a cloth or sponge.
- Sprinkle a bit of baking soda inside the pot and start scrubbing with a cloth or sponge. The baking soda will help to remove any stuck-on residue.
- Rinse the pot with warm water, making sure to remove all of the baking soda. Allow the pot to air dry.
Tips
- If you don’t like the smell of vinegar, try adding a few drops of lemon juice to the mixture. The lemon juice will help to neutralize the smell of vinegar.
- Be sure to thoroughly rinse the pot after cleaning, as any traces of vinegar or baking soda can ruin the taste of the coffee.
- Wash your glass coffee pot frequently to avoid having to use vinegar, baking soda, and a lot of elbow grease.
Cleanliness is key when it comes to coffee. With just a few simple steps, you can make sure you’re pouring yourself a delicious cup of coffee every morning.
