How to Clean a Glass Coffee Pot
If your glass coffee pot is starting to look like it’s due for a deep clean, use these simple steps to make it look new again:
Things You’ll Need:
- Baking soda
- White vinegar
- Soft scrub brush
- Paper towel
Step 1: Prepare for Cleaning
Empty out the remainder of the coffee grounds from the pot and discard in the trash. Remove any paper filters, if applicable.
Step 2: Make Cleaning Solution
Mix together 1/4 cup of baking soda and 1/4 cup of white vinegar in a bowl and stir until combined.
Step 3: Use the Cleaning Solution
Pour the cleaning solution into the glass pot, ensuring there’s enough liquid to cover the stained areas. Let it sit for a few minutes so it can start breaking down any baked-on residue.
Step 4: Scrub Away Remains
Using the soft scrub brush, gently scrub the sides of the pot while occasionally agitating the mixture inside.
Step 5: Rinse and Dry
Once the pot is completely clean, discard the cleaning solution and rinse with warm water. Wipe it dry with a paper towel and your glass pot is ready to use.
Tips:
If your glass pot is heavily stained, try soaking it in a mixture of baking soda and water overnight. The baking soda acts as a natural cleaning agent, loosening up any stubborn stains.
