How to Clean a Glass Coffee Carafe
Cleaning a glass coffee carafe is an important part of suitably maintaining the brewing equipment and to ensure an enjoyable cup of coffee each and every time. To help keep your carafe in tip-top condition, here is a how-to guide on cleaning a glass coffee carafe.
Things you will need:
- Hot or warm water
- Dish soap
- A non-abrasive scrub brush or cloth
- Vinegar or baking soda
Steps:
- Start by removing the lid and taking any filters out of the carafe.
- An easy way to start cleansing is to fill the carafe with hot or warm water and a few drops of mild dish soap. Shake the carafe until the sides and bottom are well-covered in the soap.
- Empty out the water and soap mixture. Using a non-abrasive scrub brush or cloth, scrub clean the interior and exterior of the carafe.
- If there are any stubborn stains on the inside of the carafe, try using baking soda or vinegar to help remove them.
- Rinse the carafe well with cold water to remove any soap or baking soda residue and be sure to dry thoroughly.
Note:
When cleaning any coffee carafe, it is best to avoid using steel wool or any other abrasive materials that may scratch the surface.
