How to Clean a Dirty Glass Coffee Pot

Having a reliable, clean coffee pot can be a game changer when it comes to making the perfect cup of coffee. Coffee lovers know that no matter how great the beans are, they won’t make a perfect cup of coffee if the pot is grubby and covered in old coffee grounds. Here is a handy guide to cleaning a glass coffee pot.

Materials Needed

  • Baking soda – 1/4 cup
  • White vinegar – 1/2 cup
  • Sponge – 1 (non-abrasive)
  • Brush – 1 (small, non-abrasive)

Instructions

  1. Mix the baking soda and the white vinegar together in the coffee pot. Do not turn the coffee pot on just yet.
  2. Scrub the inside of the pot with the sponge or the brush. Be gentle to avoid scratching the inside of the pot.
  3. Rinse the pot with hot water.
  4. Fill the pot with clean water and turn it on. Let it run until the water is finished. Discard the water.
  5. Repeat steps 2 – 4 until the sides of the pot are free of any residue. This will usually take 2-3 times.
  6. Rinse the pot with clean water, and you’re done!

Having a clean glass coffee pot can help you brew a better cup of coffee. Don’t forget to clean it every few weeks to keep it in peak condition. Happy brewing!
