How to Build a Reclaimed Wood Coffee Table

Reclaimed wood is stylish and environmentally friendly. With some know-how and the right materials, you can build a reclaimed wood coffee table with a rustic, yet modern industrial aesthetic that will impress your friends.

Things You’ll Need

  • 2 2×6″ reclaimed wood boards
  • 2 2×4″ reclaimed wood boards
  • 3 2×3″ reclaimed wood boards
  • Wood screws
  • Screwdriver or drill
  • Sandpaper
  • Stain & sealer

Step 1: Cut and Assemble the Base

Start by cutting your reclaimed wood boards to the appropriate lengths. For this project, you will need four boards to make the base of the table, two 2×4″ boards and two 2×6″ boards. The 2×4 boards should be the same length as the 2×6 boards.

Secure the 2×6 boards to the 2×4 boards by attaching them together with wood screws. Make sure they are spaced evenly apart and aligned correctly.

Step 2: Cut and Attach Table Legs

For the table legs, you will need four 2×3″ reclaimed boards. Cut the boards to the desired length and attach them to the 2×6 boards that make up the base. Secure them firmly in place with wood screws.

Step 3: Sand and Stain

Now it’s time to sand and stain your new coffee table. Start by sanding the wood to remove any rough edges. Next, apply a coat of wood stain and sealer to protect the wood and give it a rich and vibrant color. Let the sealer dry for a few hours before using your table.

Step 4: Enjoy Your Reclaimed Wood Coffee Table!

When you’re satisfied with the look of your new coffee table, it’s time to enjoy it! Place it in your living room as the centerpiece or use it as an accent piece.

Building a reclaimed wood coffee table is a great way to add a stylish and eco-friendly touch to your living space. With the right materials and a bit of know-how, you can build a beautiful and modern table that you’ll be proud of.
