How to Build Patio Coffee Table
Having a coffee table for your patio is an excellent way to bring life to the area. Building your own patio coffee table can be fun and cost-effective. Here are some steps for you to create a stunning patio coffee table that every guest will want to sit around.
Step One: Gather your materials
To get started, you will need the following materials:
- Table saw
- Measuring tape
- Wood screws
- Lumber
- Drill
- Sandpaper
- Wood glue
- Stain or Paint
This makes sure you have all the items you need to get started.
Step Two: Measure your lumber
Using the measuring tape, measure the lengths for the pieces of lumber you will need for your table. The measurements will depend on the size table you’d like to make. In this example, we will use the following:
- Two pieces of 1×4 lumber 16-inches long
- Two pieces of 1×4 lumber 18-inches long
- Two pieces of 1×4 lumber 20-inches long
- Four pieces of 1×4 lumber 11-inches long
Step Three: Cut your lumber
Now that you have the measurements, you will now need to cut the lumber pieces to the desired size. Using the table saw, make the necessary cuts. It’s important to wear safety glasses and gloves during this step.
Step Four: Assemble the pieces
Once you have cut the pieces, you will now need to assemble the pieces together. Start by using the wood glue and screws to attach the ends pieces to the side pieces. As you assemble, ensure each piece is square and level.
Step Five: Sanding and Finishing
Once the pieces are assembled, it’s time to sand the table. Doing this will help to smooth out any rough edges. Then finish up the table with a stain or paint of your choosing.
Step Six: Enjoy your new patio coffee table
And that’s it! You have yourself a brand new patio coffee table to enjoy. Now pour a glass of iced tea, sit down with friends and family, and enjoy your new table!
