How to Build a Wood Pallet Coffee Table
Are you looking to add a unique and stylish piece of furniture to your living room? Look no further than a wood pallet coffee table! Wood pallet coffee tables are both stylish and easy to make. Here are the steps to build your own:
Step One: Gather Materials
- 2 pallets
- 1” thick plywood
- 3 x 1-⅝” flathead wood screws
- 4 x 1-½” flathead wood screws
- Jig saw/Circular saw
- Weighty object (sanding block)
- Wood glue
- Pneumatic nailer/Hammer and finish nails
Step Two: Cut the Pallets
Using a saw, cut the pallets into 4 pieces each: Top beam, back beam, short sides (1-¼”) and long sides (2”). Be sure to measure carefully before cutting.
Step Three: Sand and Glue the Pallets
Use a weighty object such as a sanding block to sand down the cut pieces. Smooth the pieces with 80-120 grit sandpaper. Once smooth, apply a generous amount of wood glue to both surfaces and attach them.
Step Four: Attach the Plywood
Using 1” thick plywood, cut out a top piece and two side pieces. Using a pneumatic nailer or hammer and finish nails, attach the plywood to the top beam, back beam, and the short sides.
Step Five: Attach the Legs
Using a jig saw or circular saw, cut 4 legs out of a 2”x4” board. Using 3x 1-⅝” flathead wood screws, attach the legs to the long sides.
Step Six: Finishing Touches
Once you have all the pieces attached, you can finish the table off with a stain or paint of your choice. You can also add decorative pieces such as drawer handles or knobs for a more personal touch.
Congratulations! You have just built your own wood pallet coffee table!
