Building a Large Square Coffee Table

Things You Will Need
- 4- 5 Pieces of 3/4-inch rough cut plywood.
- Table saw.
- Circular saw.
- Sandpaper.
- Drill.
- 2-inch deck screws.
- Wood glue.
- Paintbrush.
- Stain or paint.
- Clear finish.
Step 1: Cutting the Pieces
Using the table saw, cut the plywood into four squared pieces for the top and base of the coffee table. Cut the wood to the desired size. For example, for a coffee table that measures 2 feet by 2 feet, cut each piece to 24-by-24 inches.
Step 2: Assembling the Pieces
Once the pieces have been cut, you need to assemble the top and bottom. Using wood glue and 2-inch deck screws for the top, line the four pieces up on their edge and screw the pieces together into one piece. Repeat the same process for the bottom of the coffee table.
Step 3: Sanding
Once the top and bottom of the coffee table have been assembled, use sandpaper to sand down any rough edges. This will help to make the table more attractive and more comfortable.
Step 4: Staining or Painting
Once the sanding is complete, you can choose to apply a stain or paint to the coffee table. If using stain, use a paintbrush to apply the stain evenly to the wood. If using paint, apply with a roller for an even finish.
