Understand How a Top & Bottom Glass Coffee Poy Works
A Top & Bottom Glass Coffee Poy is a classic coffee brewing device that is perfect for brewing larger batches of coffee for groups of people. Here is how this unique coffee maker works:
The Assembly
- Put the bottom bowl onto the open flame of any stove. Be careful not to put it too close to the flames.
- Fill the bottom bowl with cold tap water about a quarter to a third of the way full.
- Position the top bowl onto the bottom bowl.
- Put the handle into position and secure with a screwdriver.
Brewing the Coffee
- Add ground coffee to the top bowl until it’s approximately ¾ full.
- Put the top bowl onto the hot bottom part of the coffee poy. This will cause the coffee to bubble a bit as the hot water boils.
- Once the coffee has gone into the bottom bowl, remove the top bowl and use a spoon to stir the coffee.
- Once the coffee has finished brewing, turn off the stove and carefully remove the coffee poy from the flame.
Pouring the Coffee
- Once the coffee has finished brewing, remove the top bowl and set the handle to the side.
- Be very careful with the hot bottom bowl! Slowly pour the coffee into either a carafe or mugs.
- Once all of the coffee has been poured, strain any excess grounds that may have gone into the bottom bowl.
- Enjoy your freshly brewed coffee!
The Top & Bottom Glass Coffee Poy is an easy and efficient way to make delicious coffee for groups of people. It may take some practice to get the process down, but when it’s brewing, the results will be worth it!
