Painting Waves on Glass Coffee Tables
Materials You Will Need:
- Glass Coffee Table
- Acrylic Paint
- Foam Brush
- Painter’s Tape
- Newspaper (Optional)
- Vinyl Stencil (Optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Surface of the Table
Ensure the table is clean and dry. Use painter’s tape to cover any parts of the table you do not want painted. (Optional) Lay down newspaper to protect the surrounding area from paint.
- Add the Vinyl Stencil
Apply a vinyl stencil to the table top, in the shape of a wave, in the center of the table, with the stencil facing down. If you are creating a complex wave pattern, use multiple stencils to create one large design. Make sure to press down firmly on the stencils so that the edges are completely sealed and there are no gaps.
- Paint the Wave Design
Use a foam brush to paint the wave design, using the vinyl stencil as a guide. Paint from inside out and from the top down. Apply paint in thin layers and let each layer dry before adding the next. Slowly build up the paint, allowing it to dry in between each layer, until the desired effect is achieved. Once the desired effect is achieved, let the paint dry completely.
- Remove the Vinyl Stencil
When the paint is completely dry, carefully and slowly peel off the vinyl stencil. If any paint adhesive remains on the glass, wipe it off with a damp cloth.
- Enjoy!
You can now use and admire your beautiful, custom painted wave design on your glass coffee table.
