How to Make Your Own Coffee Table
Making a coffee table is easier than it looks! Here’s how to make your own awesomely modern coffee table and bring some style to your living room:
1. Gather Materials
Lumber: You’ll need two pieces of wood planed to the same thickness, one for the tabletop and one for the legs.Wood Glue: For gluing down the tabletop to the leg pieces and keeping your table together.Screws and Nuts: You’ll use this to attach the legs to the tabletop.Saw: This will help you cut the wood down to smaller sizes, if needed.Sandpaper: You’ll use this for smoothing out any rough edges or surfaces.Paint/Stain: For decorating your coffee table, this is totally optional.
2. Assemble the Pieces
Using the saw, cut your boards down to sizes that work for your coffee table. You’ll want the tabletop piece to be slightly larger than the leg pieces. With wood glue, glue the tabletop and leg pieces together. While that’s drying, you can sand down any rough edges.
3. Attach the Legs and Secure

You can decorate the table however you’d like with paint or stain. You can even add a few coats of varnish or sealant for extra protection.
